Healthy Weight Loss Tips
Weight management is highly important for overall well-being of a person. Making some small adjustment in your diet and lifestyle can help you in the long-run and benefit in the future. So let's have a look at what can you do to get fit and stay healthy.
Below are 6 healthy weight loss tips.
Fresh fruits.
Though fruits contain some sugar, you can easily include them on a weight loss diet. They’re high in fiber, antioxidants and various nutrients that slow the rise of blood sugar after meals.
Whole grains.
Avoiding refine-grains and choosing whole grains which are high in fiber and other nutrients can go a long way to help you in losing weight. Examples of these whole include, oats, brown rice and quinoa, which are enriched with beta-glucans, soluble fibers and a reasonable quantity of resistance starch(especially brown rice).
Protein.
Protein adjusts the levels of different weight regulating hormones. By eating proteinous foods like Spinach, Gras-Fed Beef, Peas, Bison e.t.c helps reduce the hunger homones(ghrelin) and produce more satiety(appetite-reducing) homones. This leads to a considerable reduction in hunger and is the major reason protein helps you lose weight.
Avoid Junk and Prossed Food.
Junk foods or packaged foods have low or no nutritional value. Consuming them on a regular basis can lead to an increased risk of obesity and life treatening diseases like cardiovascular disease, type 2 diabetes, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease and some cancers.
Avoid Refined Sugar.
Too much of sweetened foods and drinks can lead to weight gain, blood sugar problems and an increased risk of heart disease, among other harmful conditions. For these reasons, added refined sugar should be kept to a minimum whenever possible, which is easy when you follow a healthy diet.
Avoid unhealthy fats.
Eat foods with good unsaturated fats, reduce intake of foods high in saturated fat, and avoid bad trans fat. Unsaturated fats — Monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats — lower disease risk. Foods high in good fats include vegetable oils (such as olive, canola, sunflower, soy, and corn), nuts, seeds, and fish. Trans fats — at least the ones made from vegetable oils — are foreign to the body and contribute to atherosclerosis and heart disease.
Apart from these changes in the diet, one should also give equal importance to regular physical exercise. Also, stress and adequate sleep is extremely important to stay healthy and fit.
